Fire and Ice « Thread Started on Aug 18, 2008, 12:21pm » A young lioness padded up to the southern shore of the Great Lake. She was grateful for the winter; the sand felt cool under her creamy colored paw, unlike the summer when it was like fire beneath her. Here in the south, snow never stayed for long. She stepped closer to the lake, dipping her forepaws into the cold shallow water. She dipped her head down and took a long drink. She could feel the chilly water run down her throat, sending her whole body into a shiver. As she brought her head back up, she gazed over the expanse of the lake. It was still deep blue in the nearer half, but in the north she could see it fade to white. It was covered in ice up there--the whole norhern landscape was. Furaha gazed at the odd sight and sat down on her haunches, twitching her tail around her. She had nothing to do, and would just sit here until someone found her. His metal covered hands made small sounds as he moved his fingers one for one, pain flashing in his eyes Whatever happened, happened... He thought silently to himself, almost bitterly No use to cry for it anymore.... He raises his now grey eyes, watching his surroundings, this seemed like a spot he never visited before. Then he stops in his tracks How unusual... She got up, stretched, and walked up to him, her wet paws turning the sand to mud as she stepped over it. "Hello," she said with a smile. He replied, his eyes reflecting his curiosity for a moment before they again became like two shards of ice. He turns his head back to gaze over the lake, the rest of his body following "A oddly beautiful place is it, hmm?" He suddenly asks, his eyes turning to her briefly Even I have to admit it... She sits down again, laying her tail across her forepaws. "My name's Furaha. How about you?" Indeed.." Oh, he had seen it long before, but every time it managed to strike a cord within him, he closes his eyes and breathes the air in deeply, before opening them, their depths flashing for a moment as he tilts his head "Kain.." He answers softly. Turning and walks farther from her as he pushes his cloak out, revealing rather worn clothes that where once well cared for and clearly for someone of nobility, he looks at them almost sadly and then unbuttons his shirt, pulling that out too, his boots followed along with a pair of socks (I doubt if they have any here, but anyway, he still has socks or something like it XP) He straightens and walks to the lake, he looks back for a moment and then walks into the shallow but cold water, barely shivering. It's not as medievel as it looks...xD I mean, talking lions!} Furaha watched him silently, then padded back to the waters edge. She tentatively dipped a paw into the water, then quickly jerked it out and shook it dry. She blinked at Kain, wondering how he could tolerate it. "Have you ever seen snow?" She asked, determined to keep the conversation alive. He nods his head at her question "Yes...I don't know why but it always managed to awe me..." He tilts his head so that he could look at her "What about you, miss?"
